The great thing about glass is it infinitely recyclable, with no loss of quality \u2013 this means items can be recycled again, and again and again!<\/p>\n<p>The processing and use of recycled glass in manufacturing conserves raw materials, reduces energy consumption, and reduces the volume of waste sent to landfill. Every metric ton (1,000\u00a0kg) of waste glass recycled into new items saves 315 kilograms (694\u00a0lb) of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere during the creation of new glass.<\/p>\n<p>Everything you recycle brings real benefits. We want to help people to recycle all the glass they possibly can, either at home or at local recycling banks and Household Waste Recycling Centres.
