Did you know that the glass from all your little jars and scented bottles is recyclable?

When it comes to recycling, most of us are quite good at it in the kitchen. But what about the beauty products in your bathroom cabinet? Don’t forget your cream jars, perfume or aftershave bottles; because the glass from all your little jars and scented bottles is recyclable!

Glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly – without loss in quality or purity – into new glass bottles and jars. A glass bottle can go from a recycling bin to a store shelf as a new glass container in as little as 30 days.

Recycling glass is good for the environment. Every ton of glass that is recycled saves more than a ton of the raw materials needed to create new glass such as sand, soda ash and limestone. And because glass is made from natural ingredients – glass containers have no chemical interaction with their contents, ensuring that the products inside a glass bottle keep their strength and aroma.

And it’s worth it! Here’s why:

  • Recycling one perfume bottle box saves enough energy to charge two tablets;
  • Recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to light a 100-watt light bulb for 3 hours;
  • Recycling two glass bottles saves enough energy to boil water for 5 cups of tea.

Choose Glass. Recycle Glass. Happy Recycle Week!
